We are back in London for this month’s 60 seconds, chatting to our digital designer Rohan, who loves nothing more than doing the Dougie whilst combing his beard and eating Bernard Matthews Turkey slices.
CAN YOU ROUND UP IN A FEW SENTENCES WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU DO AT WAYIN?
The name is Rohan Sharma. I am Wayin’s dedicated digital designer working within the marketing team. I work on a range of works such as web design, email marketing, offline marketing and content creation. I occasionally help out the wider business every now and then.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FEATURE OF THE WAYIN PLATFORM?
Campaign creation. I like how straight forward it is to create a campaign in the App Store on the platform. The way this has been designed allows the user to easily choose what type of campaign they would like, then build the page through to publishing. Everything about it is intuitive.
IS THERE ONE PIECE OF WORK THAT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF?
I have been at Wayin for four months now and I am proud of all the work I have done. If I could pick one piece of work to choose from it would probably be our brand new Wayin promo video. I was part of the team that instrumented the full service of the video. A lot went into this and we are very happy with the outcome.
YOUR FAVORITE ITEM ON YOUR DESK WITH A PICTURE FOR REFERENCE:
My vaseline, that thing does miracles!
WHEN GOING TO A ‘WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I WANTED TO BE’ PARTY, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR OUTFIT OF CHOICE
Probably Michaelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One of my favorite shows I used to watch when I was growing up. Love pizza, love Michaelangelo, love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
LIST THREE OF YOUR MUST-HAVE APPS:
- Afterlight – A really productive app that allows me to edit my photos I take. There are a range of features on there which can really bring the images to life
- Instagram – Obviously, hashtag and upload your works
- Spotify – I have all my favourite playlists on there. It’s a must have
AS WELL AS YOUR TOP THREE SOCIAL ACCOUNTS TO FOLLOW:
My three main inspirations, food, drink and design.
@MonteFortePizza – Basically a Neapolitan pizza truck (converted vintage horse box) run by two brothers, Paulo and Luca, serving authentic Neapolitan style pizza influenced by their grandma’s recipes. Their dough is soft and scrumptious, light and airy and charred by their very owned wood-fired oven.
@The_Douglasfir – Micro bar by Gypsy Hill Brewery in Crystal Palace. I think it started out as a pop up a couple of years ago and is now a permanent fixture up the road from me. They serve their own brew, Gypsy Hill and others across 10 taps. Great company/great drinks and the occasional Monte Forte Pizza outside just for kicks.
@Designmeme – Got to have some funny memes to liven up your day. Without this, I don’t think I will get through in life.
Bernard Matthews Turkey slice, with grated cheese and Branston Pickle, all rolled up. If you could taste heaven, this is what it would be like.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, FAVOURITE DRINK?
Fresh lime & sparkling water. Maybe add some gin in if I am lucky.
WHAT ARE THREE THINGS STILL LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
- Teach my kid how to Dougie
- Teach my wife how to Dougie
- Teach my grandma how to Dougie
WHAT COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
My beard comb. A neat beard is a controllable beard although I seem to have lost it…
