Making a comeback to our screens, the hit Canadian skating reality TV show; Battle of the Blades is back and bigger than ever before. This year, CBC is using Cheetah Experiences to host a voting activation to boost engagement levels from fans, where they can vote to save their favorite couple from being eliminated from the show.

Campaign Objectives:

  • Boost engagement levels amongst TV audiences throughout the duration of Battle of the Blades
  • Make voting for their favorite couple simple, easy and fun for TV viewers

Voting Solution

As this year’s selected Hockey players and figure skaters continue to compete in the Battle of the Blades TV showdown, CBC is boosting audience engagement with a unique voting hub. Whether Amanda and Colton wowed the audience with their show stopping performance to Old Town Road, or perhaps Vanessa and Brian secured the audience’s vote with their captivating performance, viewers can vote for their favorite pair that they want to keep out of the bottom two to save them from elimination.

After tuning into Battle of the Blades every Thursday, viewers can head over to the website dedicated to the TV show to cast their votes on their favorite skating couple. Updated weekly to show which couples have been eliminated, participants can get involved by selecting the ‘Vote Now’ call-to-action button on their favorite remaining couple, before confirming their entry by submitting their email address.

To maximize campaign reach and drive further entries, CBC is also encouraging participants to invite their friends to cast their votes by sharing the experience on Facebook and Twitter using the social sharing actions provided.
