To sign-off the season 2017/18 the NHL’s New York Islanders brought together video clips showcasing the best hits, saves and goals from the past season. Fans got involved by voting for their winner, and could view the live poll results to see who was topping the leaderboard.

VOTING CONTEST SOLUTION
As part of the ‘Isles Awards’, NHL’s New York Islanders’ searched high and low to pull together the most memorable highlights from the past season, whether it be the best goals, hits or saves. To activate its large fan base, and drive engagement amongst website visitors, NHL is asking fans to browse through a selection of video content featuring the nominees, and then cast their votes for who they think should be crowned the winner.
To get involved, fans can check out the video content embedded within the campaign page, showcasing short clips from each of the 5 nominees. Whether it be Lee Vs Detroit when Anders Lee scored using that sharp angle, or Tavares Vs Detroit when John Tavares ended the year with a highlight-reel, fans can vote for their favorite hockey moment of the season. Prior to or after casting their votes, fans can also check out the live poll results to see who is topping the leaderboard, and who has some catching up to do.
To drive website traffic to New York Islanders’ social media webpage, NHL has included an @Islanders call to action button on the voting confirmation page. Fans can follow their favorite players and can check out the team’s Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube pages.
