Powershop Launches Entertaining Live Poll Activation To Capture Audience Data

Known for its entertaining and compelling campaign creations, Powershop NZ has continued to deliver with its newly launched live poll activation, designed to capture valuable audience data from prospects and customers.

In celebration of Waitangi Day, Powershop is holding a race at the Interislander Summer Festival Tauherenikau Races. Prior to the races, Powershop has launched a ‘Power Polls’ campaign to its Facebook page, asking followers what their favorite race name is in return for the chance to win some exciting prizes. To get involved, participants are simply required to select their favorite one of three unique race names: a) Te Power Rapa, b) Powernikau, or c) Nikau Nail Biter.


To complete their entry, fans must provide a few personal details including their name, email address, home address and phone number, and can select whether or not they are a customer. This enables Powershop to capture rich audience data for future marketing activities, and also helps to understand the makeup of their Facebook audience database.

As a way of maximizing entertainment value, in turn enticing further campaign entries, Powershop has also embedded a live poll activation within the campaign to reveal all the votes submitted so far.


To reward both loyal customers and supporting Facebook followers, as well as providing an incentive for participation, Powershop is giving participants the chance to win a selection of exciting prizes, including one of 15 Double Passes to the Powershop Marquee at the races, and one of 10 pocket-sized mobile phone chargers. What’s more, as a special thank you to its customers for their continuous support, Powershop is giving existing customers extra credit for their accounts.
